Just thought I'd ask. |

Who says they do, dmb? How do you know it's not a Hollywood media conspiracy to make you purchase stuff?
Ask Capergirl, she knows everything.
Anyway I hope it's true, because people tell me I look like Tom Cruise.
Hopefully Yours

How do you define that? I'll take brains over brawn any day if that's what you're referring to. I'd like a geeky intellectual who still knows how to use a hammer (no pun intended, well, ok maybe). To be honest, 'hunky' men kind of intimidate me, and sometimes can be nothing to talk to - fun to look at and fantasize, but for a long-term partner - No, at least not for me |

I'm constantly being told that I either look like Star Trek's Patrick Stewart( he who commands the bridge) or Dr Evil. I think that is hunky enough for ANY women. |

Ah but Sara, are your chest-goblets sufficiently enlarged to meet the needs of Patrick Stewart II?
Hunky men? Ew, even the term sounds kinda Chippendalesian, evoking images of mindless waxed beefcake. Yuk. Give me a fine mind with a sharp wit any day. |

Personally, I don't (usually) go for big burly men.
I prefer "lean and muscular" - much sexier.
Why? Who knows (or cares)? Why do I like apple juice more than orange juice? The Simpsons more than South Park? Milk chocolate more than dark chocolate? |

A real man, you say, Sara? A real old man, more like.
Up to you, as they say in Thailand.

Age doesn't have anything to do with beauty. At least not to me. Give me wisdom, intelligence, and compassion over youth anyday. |

I don't particularly care about hunkiness. As long as the guy in question is capable of picking me up and dragging me... oh, wait, that's another thread.
Are we ladies supposed to think that Tom Cruise is a hunk? I've never found him attractive. Now, Johnny Depp, though, OHMYGOD!!!!! (Not "hunky," but...)

Interesting topic. I guess from the term "hunk" we can infer "big piece."
I'm one of those "big, burly" guys, though a lot less so than when I played football. I was a lot more "imposing 50 lbs ago. I'm a head shaver too - though not quite as ripe in age as Patrick Stewart. Sorry, ladies.
Anyhow, my question is a binding of threads, if you will. If girls don't like "hunky" men, do they like "cutesy" boys (ie. Leo Di Caprio and the like)?

In my case, nope. Two Hollywood-type men that I find irresistibly attractive are Johnny Depp (as mentioned above) and David Duchovny, neither of whom is either hunky or cutesy. Is there one word that could adequately describe both of them? Other than, of course, ohmygodtheyaresosexy.

Sara, thank you so much for that pic of Patrick. Made my morning.
I have a *thing* for intellectual, bald or balding men. Apparently, the less hair, the sexier I find them. My last 5 b/f or crushes were all bald or balding. Also, I seem to date geeks. Seriously. The geekier, the better. If they can not carryon a smart, funny, informed conversation, they won't hold my attention for more than 5 seconds. I doubt Tom Cruise could hold my attention for a millisecond.
I showed the Tom, Patrick comparison to my Chinese desk mate and she chose Sara's avatar of the tiger. There are just no pleasing some women!
The HOllywood men I find most attractive are Kevin Spacey, Anthony Hopkins and Edward Norton. Not exceptionally hunky. |
