My wife and I are moving to Madrid in a few months and she is a Beijing native with 8 years experience of teaching Chinese to foreigners.

Is there much demand in Madrid/Spain to learn Mandarin Chinese and what would the hourly rate be?

Thanks for any info. |

Quite a few language schools in Madrid offer Chinese language tution. Based on this, I imagine that your wife should be able to get a job teaching Chinese.

I have no idea what they pay, but I imagine that it will be similar to teacher rates for other foreign languages taught in Spain. Academy rates vary widely and go from around 13 per hour to as high as 25 per hour. If you teach private classes you can sometimes bill as high as 30 per hour depending on your skills (language and negotiation ). |
