If you want books buy them from Amazon.

Bring any favourite teaching materials you may want.

I'm sure when you get there you'll find a couple of things at least are unobtainable but we don't know what they are.

Thank you for that Stephen.

I'll bring a selection of books from beginners to advance and use them along with the books the University provides ( been told they're out of date)

My only concern is providing materials in terms of photocopies for them to work on.

Well I'm giving conflicting information on this forum, I read a recent postings saying resources at Al Jouf are lacking , advising to bring your own things and then yourself saying your [color=red]'sure that you will have photocopying facilities'
. I'm skimming the forum trying to obtain an accurate picture of this place i'll be working in soon.
I guess I'll know which postings to read from which people now!

In mentioning camels, I wasn't referring to you...

No, wait! There's always the Empty Quarter...

NCTBA, after reading your post, my imagination ran riot with images of flyblown outhouses behind the school, camels tied up in front, and teachers carrying 50# of texts & supplies on dusty roads, an apt initiation for the woefully ignorant slugs willing to accept such a post.....

[color=indigo]Never said or implied such! That was your bizarre interpretation! Have you even looked at a map as to where al jouf is? It's stuck out in the middle of nowhere under the twin armpits of the Jordanian and Iraqi deserts! I NEVER said that there wasn't any commerce there albeit it's VERY limited in reference to its size and REMOTENESS!

LOL!
NCTBA, that bizzare interpretation was my humble attempt to lighten the post...but you knew that?!? Laughing yes, my pea brain equated remoteness with inaccessibility (or REALLY expensive accessibility) given my cultured assumptions (think country market).

balanced with poor humor is an ever abiding practicality which could become frustrated with coded answers to questions here. as denUK has pointed out, plenty of responses, not enough meat (excepting js, who is my hero of the moment because of shared knowledge of kindle).

doesn't this feel like a 3 stooges shtick that has lost steam? perhaps best to close this thread and move on. but please, don't let me have the last word! (and that is humor, not sarcasm, so that one does not have to read more into it than there is...)

alrighty then, time to quit peering down my nose at the confuser and start my day.

g'day!

Meant to say 'getting' , I'm at work and checking the forum, replying to postings quickly, hence the typo errors.

Well working full-time and trying to be discreet in front of colleagues can result in errors as I'm typing away quickly. Well, i've learnt now not to mix work with social networking.

Next time I'll do these postings at home, and save those people who have too much time on their hands Very Happy

Dear John,
If you haven't already, please disregard the pm about this product. Poor reviews aside (while legitimate, seem to mostly come from people who want the perfect ereader NOW), your plug makes sense. It will either be my newest favorite toy or another acquisition to collect dust. Only time/use will tell!

Thanks,
Leez

I know how you feel, I made the same point ages ago...You just have to filter through the postings and take what little info. there is.
