|
|
Note: I searched for this topic, but no luck. Please excuse me if I missed it and made this unnecessarily.
Topic:
The wife and I need to ship our remaining stuff (what we couldn't fit in suitcases for the plane) from Texas to Chiba. Money is an issue, but so is the safety and integrity of our belongings. Can anyone advise on the best means to achieve both quality and economy for this process?
Thanks! |

The post office might be the cheapest option. |

Lord I hope not. They told me any box over their normal shipping size (i.e. - the size you get textbooks in) runs from $100 to $200 a box. |

I just paid about that for a 30k box to send stuff OUT of Japan. The rest I'll have to throw out or sell.
Sounds like it might be time for a Sayonara sale at your end. Packing light is much easier and cheaper. |

I know that when I was in China I used UPS and never had a problem. You might consider same. |

i haven't done it, but i was told a great way is to ship it on a boat if you aren't in a hurry. i'm not sure how to go about it, but maybe you can try that. i've been told it is much cheaper, but takes longer to recieve your stuff if you aren't in a hurry to get it |
