I have noticed that the ads on Daves for jobs seem to be the same advertisers over and over again.
Does this imply that they have a high turnover?
I have been looking at the wanted ads for a few years and it's mostly the same schools / companies.
What's up with that? |

I reckon it's because schools want to let people know jobs are still available. And so this has to be done on a realtime almost daily basis.
Rather than posting a job with a deadline, that may sink deep into the back pages of the board and may not be seen.
Just my theory though
It's marketing - why do TV adverts come on more than once in a lifetime? You know. |

I think you're both right.
Dave's charges a fee for job ads, and so perhaps they get a bulk rate as well (only Dave's knows for sure.) Other ESL-realted websites don't charge for job ads, so you REALLY see lots of repeats on those.
I think high turnover is the primary reason, plus many training centers are trying to keep a high number of FTs on staff at all times. Most FTs split at the end of the first contract (if they last that long), and so these employers are always seeking more FTs (especially ones from USA, UK, Canada, Australia, NZ) . |

I love some of the wording of some of the repeats, especially on the Korea job board.
Cozy housing? Cozy is a bad word which really means "way too small"

Yes, I've noticed the same. I can't believe that there are openings at Westgate and RMIT Vietnam with the plethora of postings from these outfits. But you never know. |

Oh, how true!
Other pet peeves in job ads are the ones that begin with a lengthy tourist-type description of the location ("rolling hills," "cascading waters" etc.)
and the ones that end with" We welcome you with open arms!" or the group of recruiters that always sign off with "Faithfully yours"
Oh, puleeze! |

from my experience, absolutely!
the last gig that i've had (for four years) has offered me the real meaning of what a high employee turnover means. and, they're advertising on daves again

more adverts, more applicants...more applicants, more "competitive" salaries..or, more applicants in, and more applicants out

the fee might not be as high as the recruiters pocket. let's say for example the macEF head office in shanghai or in UK. a few years back they charged its own macEF centers 1000s of yuan for a ft. yes, they did "some work" to get/creen the "lucky ones".
i myself could not find a suitable job offer out of the adverts this year. as i believe i know the market by now, i only respond to few, to me better quality offers. then, i blame myself for some not even replying to me. .. i participate on forums discussions.
cheers and beers to all |

I have to say the jobs I like were the ones that found me through posting my resume on the job board. I noticed a couple of them don't advertise on the job board which I did find peculiar. As if they only search the resumes and don't advertise their openings. |

hey, it's been said before and i'll have to say it again...the best jobs (if there are any in this country) ARE NOT advertised on this or any boards.
there's a company that just advertises and has advertised before. i posted a separate thread on the company a couple days ago. NOBODY seems to either know about them or willing to post anything on them. what does that tell ya?
cheers and beers to job postings that widen our choices |

They put the same advertisment up - again and again - because they are not able or can't be bothered to write a new one. Those who reply are offered other jobs.
This method of finding new EFL fodder - tells you lot about the level of professional standard that's applied to most of the China EFL industry
