Hi Dynow

Sorry I didn't reply earlier. Was offline.

'Hope the job's going ok. Some advice: when you've finished the proofing (i.e. with a document full of red text corrections), save the file. Then 'Accept All Changes' and scan through the document to make sure you haven't left any typos (even small ones such as doublespaces between words are easy to miss). If all looks ok, 'Undo', so that your red text reappears. The client can then be given a perfect text and can choose whether to review your changes or simply to accept them all.

I once corrected an abysmal translation. (For the first time in my life, I actually asked for the Polish original, even though my Polish was pretty weak at the time). Even though I did SO much work on it - more like a translator than a proofreader - and it was by far the best work I'd ever done I never saw the client again because I forgot (or was so braindead by the end) to review my own changes! What the client received was a just about perfect file but full of stupid typos I hadn't reviewed.

Live and learn.
