you could easily sign a 9 month contract with a South Korean school, they'd pay for your flight out there, pay for your apt., cell phone, and pay you well. after 9 months, you'll get a month's severance pay and a free ride (or close to it) back home. if you live moderately, there's no reason why you couldn't save $10,000 USD while you were out there. with that cash, go to Poland, work 10-15 hours a week, and travel all you want. |

Sara,
Since it is your "motherland" so to speak, it would be great for you. Just don't come with high expectations of flitting here and there on a teacher's salary. Lower your expectations and you can have a great time. Maybe one way to explore further would be to try to find "teaching" positions at various English camps all summer long.
That way you could experience things "on their ticket" so to speak. (Often camps take wyczecki, etc. and I'd assume as a teacher you'd be covered by the campers.) |

Yeah, I looked into those camps. Would I be able to do them all summer, though? Also, what about international schools? Do they pay better at all?
Thank you for all your help everyone. I am clueless to all of this, but I am taking steps with all of your advice. |

Well, some kids seem to go from camp to camp all summer. Why couldn't you if you planned it right/had enough choices? |

International schools do pay better - but they usually require significant qualifications + experience. You need regular teacher certification from your home country and at least two years to even apply in most places (not speaking specifically for Poland here, but for int'l schools in Europe in general). Further, openings are usually few and far between, and usually go to people with local contacts and reputation.... |

Maybe I could do the camps next summer to dip my foot in it, teach here for a few years, then head over there and maybe teach in an international school? |
