I recently got offered a job at the Shanghai World Foreign Language School which is an International Baccalaureate primary school. I was just wondering if anyone had heard of the school and also, does the status of being an IB school really mean anything? I did make sure on the ibo.org site that they were a legit IB school but I'm just wondering if it really means anything in terms of being a 'good' school.

Thanks all!

I have never heard of this school but being an IB school usually means it's a really good school. For IB high schools, students normally have to test to get in (in the US) and they are tested to make sure they've met certain standards. The "IB" diploma is also widely recognized by many universities. Here are more information on IB schools:

The school where I work just received its designation as a IB Diploma Programme school. The IB organization collects a hefty fee from participating schools so there is a big incentive for them to expand, and the application process was not as rigorous as you would think. I wouldn't take it as a sign of good school so much as a sign that it isn't a total hole.

Getting experience in an IB school will opne many doors for you. There is no guarantee that an IB school is a good school, but you can get your experience and move on to greener pastures.
