Quoting 2 Pac is as useless as quoting Oprah. Not a dig at you grendel...a dig at the two mentioned.

Dear Middle East Beast
...some of the complaints and whinges on this forum about admin/HR/managers/colleagues would be laughable, if they weren't so sad..
If you want to judge others when you don't know what your talking about Mr. new to teaching abroad, then it just reflects badly on you.
If you want to judge me, you can stick it where the sun doesn't shine pal. You have no idea what the experiences shared on this forum were like for those who experienced them. WOW, I wish we were as enlightened as you. I've had enough of people coming on this forum and condemning others for their own experiences.
Judge away...
You can respond to this or not, I won't be back to this thread.[/quote]
I seem to have touched a nerve there, please accept my apologies if I've offended you in any way with my inexperienced jollity. I am not judging, as I sincerely believe that every person on this earth is unique and has a story to tell, and we would be foolish to dismiss ANYONE'S experience. The words I used were 'complaints and whinges' NOT complainants and whingers - there is a difference in emphasis there. It's like saying to a child, 'You're a bad boy' versus 'that was a bad thing you did'
So, please do not blank me; I did not come on this forum to upset people and make enemies, however virtual and unlikely to meet they are! Life is long, and you never know how paths may cross in the future.

| I would have thought that a modicum of flexibility/adaptability is an essential requirement for anyone considering working in Saudi - some of the complaints and whinges on this forum about admin/HR/managers/colleagues would be laughable, if they weren't so sad.. unhappy people are unhappy anywhere and are quite 'happy' to project their own inadequacies onto their situation. When in Rome.. etc. If you have problems dealing with 'administration of life' in Saudi, think of the poor saps who were born there and who have to deal with it all their lives. |
Here is a segment of your OP. This is a slam on those people who voice their discontent regarding employment in Saudi Arabia. Yes, life is long, and if you work as an expat English instructor, the world is small. I would avoid starting your life on Dave's Cafe by offending a lot of people you don't know, about conditions you haven't experienced, in a country you haven't been to, in a field of work you have never been employed in.
Just a suggestion. |
