I have a job offer in Dhahran and was wondering how much it costs for a nice one or two bedroom furnished apartment. It doesn't have to be 'elegant' yet I don't want a hole in the wall.
What kind of an apartment will 2000 USD/month (7500 SAR) get me?
Feel free to PM. |

A decent one bedroomed furnished apartment in Khobar should cost around SR 2,000 - SR 2,500 a month. You'd be crazy to throw away $2000 a month on rent. |

You can get even better deals on rent if you are willing to drive from Dammam. Apartments are VERY cheap there, from what I have heard. |

For SR. 4,000 to SR. 5,000 a month you can get a furnished 1-bedroom apartment in a nice compound which has all sorts of amenities such as minimarket, pools, tennis courts, restaurant, etc. |

thanks to all for the answers. I wasn't sure how much housing was in Saudi. It sounds like around a third of my housing allowance could be left over each month. GOOD NEWS!!! |

You need to bear in my mind you usually have to pay at least three months up front.
I also reckon you are better off on a western compound as there are some amenities and social life to be had.
Others may disagree but i found living on a western compound made life much more enjoyable. |
