I returned home from the KSA to the U.S. a few weeks ago. For the last time.
I have no agenda to dissuade others from going to the KSA. People ask to be informed before making the go/no go decision. My agenda is to provide factual information based on my real experiences there. That's it.
I try to stick to the facts of my experiences, which can be denied by no one, though some may attempt to get into my mind and discern my true motives/feelings/thoughts/aspirations, etc.
I won't waste time debating the latter. I also won't debate the virtues of optimism/pessimism/positivity/negativity. I prefer reality. If it's good, it's good, if it's bad, it's NOT good. |

I can't state that with certainty for I'm not sure it everyone does it that way. But I know it was done that way for me and all the others where I worked.

Dear John,
I did receive my contract from al-khleej, the pages split on a vertical fold with arabic on the right and the, what i will call english translation, on the left. at least that's what i assumed! criminey, i never thought for a minute that it wouldn't be an apt translation. what the heck do i know? apparently, not enough! i signed the sucker and sent it along with other required visa docs. but i promise, if i fall in a saudi hole, i won't complain about my knee scrapes here on dave's!

Congrats leez...very happy for you. And am further impressed with our KSA friends' business acumen on both sides of the world. Nice touch to get the actual Arabic Contract to the teacher while still in the U.S....
When I learned that you did not have it translated, my active sense of humour said, "Gee, I hope she didn't just sign a contract to carry bricks and mix mortar for 3 dollars a week...while living in a tent...with ten other labourers" 
Really am happy for you. Let the adventure begin!
