Dear MEB:
Well, I don't mean to diverge from the topic I created...and I don't mean to sound pretentious... and although embassies are useful helpful in many instances, they often are not too helpful when someone has some problems with sponsors in the KSA...and I would even say that some of us have alot of experience dealing with companies, contracts, visas etc.
That being said, I think almost everybody who contributes on this forum have very good intentions.
Finally, I will admit for the sake of other readers that the easy to get 3 month renewable work/visit business visa ALSO suits me better because I am older than the age limit that is now being imposed by most GCC countries.

| So essentially the two visas which a western worker can come to the KSA on are business and employment. Business seems to be more common now as a cheaper, quicker and potentially more risky way in. Has anyone heard of something even lesser than business which you can still initially work on before going through the various hoops to a second business or employment visa? |

So everytime I did a visa run, I'd have to pack up all my belongings and carry them with me, just in case. I wouldn't want to leave my valuables behind. You'd see me in Bahrain with three watches on while wearing a Tikka headlamp. Jesus. |

have just learned that there is a new TEMPORARY WORK VISA for the KSA added to the list below:
1. Employment VISA.....................................the long one.
2. Business Visa with authorization to work.....the fast track one.
3. TEMPORARY WORK VISA...........................good for 6 months...appears to be quick like the business work visa.

Dear SJ:
Well, I am not disputing what you're saying which is probably correct. I have noticed that some things happen in the KSA that sometimes are not LEGAL but they still happen.
But from the experience and info I have, what I said is also correct... the 3 VISAS I mentioned do exist. I don't pretend to be an expert and I don't want to speculate more or mislead readers any further about VISAS, however....
....in my opinion the KSA remains the toughest and most difficult country to get entry status...and teachers who are considering to come here should be well aware of the hassles with contracts and visas.
The last word.

Good luck on getting two Saudi Embassies to give the same answer. Not to mention, good luck on getting two employees of the same embassy to give you the same answer.

Dear veiledsentiments,
Ot, for that matter, the same employee to give you the same answer on two different occasions (No, that is NOT hyperbole.)
