Can you get an FM3 Independent and list one school, also? I don't intend to teach private students at this time, but if the job doesn't last, then it'd be nice to be able to teach privates without paying to change my FM3. Also, if you don't earn any income in a particular month on an FM3 Independent, do you still have to file the monthly tax forms, or do you only file them when you earn money? |
If youre independent, you can have whatever clients you want, including schools. So if you are independent, you dont have to list any schools. Note this also has the advantage that you can also work for more than one school easily; if you arent independent you have to have all your employers named in your work authorization.
If you dont have income in a particular month, you file but it is a very trivial process to file in zeros. You can also do it by declaring 1 peso income because you can file over the internet if you have non-zero income and then you dont have to make a trip to the bank. At least it used to be that way at some point but they are changing the tax rules and procedures all the time. |

Migracion made such a mess of my FM2 that it now says, "podra desarollar libremente cualquier actividad licita y honesta". I just asked for independent status to teach languages - it took them 3 months to add that amendment. Guess I could be a plumber if I wanted to? |

The only problem with being a plumber is that you will also have to learn to be an electrician, gas fitter, carpenter, plasterer, painter, nanny...... |

Nice
Now you can do whatever, wherever.

Like having a green card in the US. |

I guess I was lucky. I can't help but wonder how you'd get this permission 'normally' though, it's not as if you can go into migra and ask for permission to do whatever you want - I can't imagine it would go down too well. |
