OK, enough is enough. Its about time that someone addressed this issue. I think that certain people are abusing this website.
Correct me if I am wrong but the purpose of this site is to share ideas and experiences, help each other with work, legal, travel problems, etc and well just hang out in a cyber space sort of way.
However I feel that certain disgruntled individuals use this place to spread BS and misinformation about certain establishments. Why do I mention this I hear you ask.
Well this comes from something I read in the Job information Journal.
http://www.eslcafe.com/jobinfo/middle_east/sefer.cgi?display:1077371232-805.txt
I can understand people stretching the truth a little, but just to make up lies. I really cant understand.
I would just like to point out some of the lies in this post. (I know some of you are thinking I should post this on the Qatar forum, but the reason I have put it here is because Im sure the same thing happens on all the boards)
We are in the poorest suburb of doha? NO
All the neighbours are Afghanis and Pakistanis? NO
All the neighbours detest us with a vengeance? They are friendly to me
There is no water in the building? Ive been her for 2 months and had water every day.
There is a generator? Ah true. But it is no louder than an a/c.
The generator is switched off at night? BS
There is a bed time curfew? BS
Attacks on teachers? BS
Do I need to continue. Almost every single sentence/accusation is a figment of the posters imagination
So anyway, my question is why do some people get off on slagging their employer off and yet pick up the pay check at the end of the month. (The poster is also unaware of how much they earn)
So Malcolm( not a real name) care to answer? |

Some people seem to become a bit unhinged when it comes to criticising employers and ex-employers.
When reading these pages it is important to have a large quantity of cr@p detector available ! |

I read the post, the poster was one Mr. Malcolm Larkey (Malarkey is another word for BS). Pretty serious allegations for a prankster. What beef do you suppose he has with the establishment in question? |

So true. I saw a posting made about a school I don't work at, but where I know some of the teachers. The disgruntled ex-teacher made several false or distorted negative comments about the school - but he didn't bother to point out that he was fired for coming to class as drunk as a skunk.
You have to take all the journals with a grain of salt. One thing I've noticed is that people tend to complain a lot more loudly than they praise. If you see a false allegation made about a school, why not submit a journal posting that tells the other side of the story. |
