Yep, 19 zl 2mb/second. No limits on use. They're coming next Tuesday to install it.

Thanks for the tip.

Did they say how long the deal will be? That sounds unbelievably good. Is it an introductory offer?

Just a suggestion.

DON'T FORGET PRAGA!!

The Praga side of town is not as 'dingy' as it once was and there are tonnes of foreigners (as it's filled with students and the local Vietnamese crew) along with great bars and clubs and (the best of all) is still cheaper than the 'other side of the river'.

Highly recommended. Very Happy

Are there traffic jams going from Praga to the other side of the river? I'll almost certainly be working somewhere near the center and would need to make the trip every day. There is no metro line to Praga (yet).

You're crazy! Dial up is 56kb/s this is 2mb/s...
This is what I use, and it takes me about 2hrs to download a full movie [torrents]. I can use youtube, listen to pretty much anything and watch whatever I want without lag.

Easy Tram connection, don't have to worry about traffic at all. Right now they are working on the Poniatowski bridge and there are some changes, but over all I've never had an issue commuting. [I have some privates in Praga early in the morning]
You can catch literally a handful of trams directly from Centrum every 3 min or so...

There's traffic of course, but nothing like some other areas of W-wa. It used to take me about 40 to 50 mins to get from Rondo Wiatraczna to my old job near Galeria Mokotw and 25 to 30 mins via Trasa W - Z to near the corner of Solidarność and Żelazna. If you live closer to the bridges, it's quicker to the centre. Plus there's ample public transport every which way you want to go.

I found myself a nice place on Aleja 3 Maja. Rent is a bit high, but I can be in the center in less than 10 min with a bus or tram.

The best part is the landlady speaks English, so no awkward, 20-minute phone calls to explain that my shower is flooding or whatever.

I had a really nice 2 bedroom flat a 5 minute walk away from Zamek....it came free when I was tutoring a very wealthy Polish business man.

I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone wants to live in Warsaw when there are so many other beautiful cities in Poland in which there's plenty of work; Wroclaw, Krakow, Poznan, Sopot, Torun etc

Why are you in Warsaw? It's got to be love ...cos it ain't pretty....in fact Warsaw girls aren't nearly as pretty as the ones in Poznan that's for sure!!

Why Warsaw?

3 reasons:

1) I can finish the DELTA this December-May at Bell Warsaw. I know some here don't think the DELTA is worth the time and energy, but for me it makes sense.

2) There is more demand in Warsaw for English teachers than in other Polish cities. Pay is higher as well. Yes, the rent is higher too. But last time I checked, Warsaw beer is still 6-7 zloty a pint in many pubs, kebap and pizza are still 8-15 zloty a meal, and Warsaw boasts a lot of good inexpensive Asian restaurants (especially Vietnamese food).

3) Warsaw is not so bad! It certainly has its pretty parts, and public transportation is very fast and convenient for such a big city. I haven't really begun to explore the nightlife yet. Been too busy lining up work.

I lived in Gdansk for one year and have visited Krakow and Sopot. The mobs of tourists in these cities can become annoying after a while, especially in the summer.

There's tonnes of work elsewhere and the pay can be great everywhere if you target the students...ie get 1:1 business folk.

And bro....living on kebabps, pizza and low grade Chinky food ain't gonna do you any favours...

Just a thought.

It's the big city syndrome. Same in NYC, if you go anywhere in the states ppl will say - New Yorkers are rude and annoying, the city is awful etc etc...

I know Shake and he really likes that ****. OK, for all you Brits out there, *****, but he and I are Yanks. There's no accounting for taste.

Believe it or not, Shake usually knows what he's doing, except when he's playing poker with me.

Warsaw's not that bad. I spent six weeks there a couple of years ago and there really are some good things there. Just give me a few years to try to remember them and I'll tell you.
