Guys- I am thinking of moving to China or HK and wanted to know if it is possible to transfer money from those places to the US, because I have college loans I need to pay.
Thanks! |

Transferring money from Hong Kong is very easy. Also you can set up a US$ account and transfer money into that. The Hong Kong dollar rate is pegged to the US dollar so the rate never changes. |

But remember, because Hong Kong is no longer a British colony, you have to get a guarantor from the Communist Party, and any error in reporting the origins of your earnings will result in swift detention. Many have disappeared across the border to the mainland, never to be seen again. I lost some of my good friends that way. Now I just stash the cash under the bed, and hope I never hear that knock on the door in the middle of the night. |

I actually think you'll have more problems from the US taxation department making sure you haven't got a stash of money that you haven't paid tax on than anyone from the Chinese communist party! |
