I wouldn't do it. Packages are routinely opened. So if it is a prescription medication, it would be impounded I believe. I don't know of anybody who has tried this before.

I mentioned this too to staff at my Embassy and was told no problem with Ibuprofen, antihistaminics (for allergies) and vitamins or vitamin complex that I regularly use, they sell them there too so need to bring them too but they did make a point with anfetaminas (not sure how you translate this in English) because they consider them drugs.

They also went trough the whole list with alcohol, pork and the works which I dont have a problem with as I dont drink or some but I will be missing my eggs and bacon and the world famous "hard cured ham" ouch ! Sad

Funnily enough, so do I!

Anyway, I agree with trap. It's probably not a good idea to have a large consignment of medicine sent to you as it would almost certainly arouse suspicion, and quite possibly impounded. As he says, with a few exceptions almost all medications are available here - often with less hassle and less expense than at home.

Ive personally found an excellent combination of Mediterranean diet and exercise Laughing

Are you talking about 'amphetamines' here? Umm... they are recreational drugs and are banned in every country Confused

Trap,

Bacon isnt but I only take it moderately but the hard cured ham yes it is included in the Mediterranean diet just a much as Olive oil - you wont see many of us obese, a bit chunky maybe Very Happy cause we have the weather to go out and workout the calories !

Regarding other questions Ive never taking any of this sh..... in my life, never have, never will. Regular exercise and diet the best reccommendation I can give for a healthy body and mind Very Happy

Not really Trap... they are perfectly legitimate drugs for treatment of specific medical issues. But, unfortunately they have been adopted by recreational drug users... similar to opiates and now pain medications like oxycontin.

you'd be taking chances
1) in declaring contents 'medicine' on a customs label as required in registered mail or in express mail service (Fedex, dhl, etc) - if you don't accurately declare contents, you forfeit the right of a claim
2) in not declaring it in orxdinary post

most medicines are available and cheaper in the gulf - pm a saudi resident on this branch is my advice

The only way that I would advise you to bring in prescription medication is to bring it with you.

It should be in sealed containers which are placed in a sealed bag, and you MUST have a rather official-looking letter with you from your doctor confirming that you take the medication under a doctor's prescription. (Make sure the letter has stamps on it - everything has got to have stamps on it in the Middle East to be official.)

I have brought in large quantities of medication this way, and I have never had a problem. However, I would not try it with opiates, tranquilizers, or amphetimines of any kind. Those drugs that are controlled in the US are highly illegal in Saudi Arabia and importing them could end up in arrest.
