I'm coming to the end of my first teaching contract. I plan to head back home to Vancouver for maybe a month or so, then try to find TEFL work somewhere in Latin America.
While I'm in Vancouver I'll be living with my parents and friends as I renew passport, IDs, etc. and search for a new job.
What do others do in between jobs? Do you vacation and take it easy? Go back to school for a while? Sponge off your rich uncle? |

For the last decade, I have been heading back to the west coast of Canada to see friends and family... simply because my jobs were always wonderfully flexible enough for me to enjoy the summer at home. I look forward to it. It keeps me centered.
Still not sure what I'll do in September though... |

Since I got into this wacky field five years ago, I've only had one break, and I used it to go to grad school. (Does that count as a break?)
The next time I find myself between jobs/countries, I'd like to take some time off and travel--a tourist's perspective just seems so much more relaxing than a teacher's.

I have yet to be between jobs..although last summer, I moved from Japan to HK, so I just bummed around HK. This summer, thanks to the joys that are school holidays, I get to go back to Saskatchewan! (Yes, I am excited about that!! )
Usually, I would holiday somewhere, just to relax and not think about teaching and starting over, which is always a challenge. |

Nothing. Just sleep and relaxing to recoup some of that lost energy...

LA, the question was about what to do between jobs. Not lessons |
