Earlier in the year I saw an ad for Vaughan Systems' Teaching Assistant Program in Castile-Leon. It seemed like a wonderful opportunity to spend 2 months in Spain working as an assistant in a primary school. I sent an email with my CV in May....I received no response. A week or so later I sent a follow-up email and again received no response. I then phoned the person concerned, and she told me that she had been very busy and she assured me that she would send me info about the application process as soon as had the info herself.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, 3 months and several emails (including an email to the manager which was ignored) and phone calls later I have never been given the opportunity to apply, or at least been told "Sorry, you're not suitable for the program." I have just been ignored or told to wait longer. I find this to be quite strange and unprofessional behaviour from a large and seemingly successful organisation such as Vaughan Systems.

The program starts next month so it is too late for me now, even if I had a chance to apply...disappointing!

There are a number of agencies offering to help people with their applications to the TA program for a fee and they are scams.

From the website:
Quote:
Please note:

It has come to our attention that some unscrupulous people are offering to falsely provide services for a fee.

The Embassy of Spains Education Office in the United States and Canada DOES NOT CHARGE ANY APPLICATION FEES for services provided in respect of The Language and Culture Assistants program.

Please, promptly contact us if you are in any way asked to pay for any services in connection with this program.

The "real" program is 8 months long and you apply directly here:
