I walked into my local police station. I explained that I need a background check print-out to obtain a Saudi visa. The officer said, "We don't give those out to people. Maybe you should go to the CIA."

So should I speak with the CIA? Or should I just call President Obama and ask him to call the Saudi embassy for me?

Where the heck do I get a background check from?

Dear gorkomi,
Do you have a local sheriff's office or a state police office? If so, try those.
Regards,
John

That's weird, it's a customer policy. It only costs like $20-30 and takes 30 min. to process.

In Canada it costs $16 CAN. but it take 2-3 weeks and it gets mailed to your address.

You're lucky.

Try fingerprints and 4-6 weeks and that with couriering it personally which is not cheap...

I applied for an unabridged marriage cert yesterday and they told me I can expect it in 8-12 weeks....

I know somone who is waiting for her passport... it's been 6 months now! Yes it can take 6 months to get a passport here! Her bag got stolen out of her bag while she was going to apply for the iqama and she lost her job in Saudi because of it... she is still waiting for her new passport!

That is SOUTH AFRICA for you! At least you have the option of paying money to fast track your criminal clearance certificate Smile

My Canadian husband came with me to home affairs once, I don't think he will ever complain about Canada again after that experience lol

With regard to Canada we had a guy it took a year for. Obviously he gave up after ten months. I still have the Parliamentary question from his MP regarding it.

In the US, I recently just went to my local county courthouse, which was able to print out the appropriate records for me - $5.
