June 09 many ELU students who missed very many classes failed.
The ELU Head submitted the unit's grades.
The VP (Kuwaiti) passed them.
The ELU Head resigned.
BTW billboards all around Kuwait in June/July were plastered with teh white, Western faces of GUST teachers, Dean and VP. (Dunno if they even knew about it let alone were compensated for use of their image.) June/July were - ohmygosh - the registeration time for Sept 09 new students.
Now a double layer of Kuwaiti admin has been added to include a 28 year old VP (related to a Board member of GUST).
Lure the students in with white faces and Kuwaitis pass them anyway.
Some REALLY should go to UMSL and have them decide if their collaboration with GUST is really worth the $ they get. My guess is the UMSL relationship will quietly fade in a year or two. |
