Hi,

I was wondering, aside from the Asia thing (Taiwan, Korea, Japan), if there is any "beginner" opportunities in the Middle East, and if so where? I realize the savings might not be as nice, but are there opportunities? I am also wondering if after a few years of experience in the ME what one could progress to (basically w/o a Masters). What are some countries/regions that would most likely hire people with "beginner" credentials? Thanks. (I have searched the forum, but am unsure of the answer. It seems to be like Turkey, Syria, etc.)

BA not in Education btw. I realize I could go to Korea, etc., maybe get a Masters, then go to ME in a fewbut wondering if I could start out in ME anywhere, thanks.

lower grade international schools will look at you as will language institutes

w/o a masters , you'd be dead-ended into this life
which btw many people do and are comfortable with

If you go down this forum and look at thread titles, or do a quick search you'll find this question has been asked and answered many times.

You will be fodder for the bottom feeders, those who do not pay in full or on time, do not provide benefits (tickets, medical, housing), often no legal documentation and do not provide a living (let alone a saving) wage.

The better employers demand and get employees with a related Master's degree and at least 3 years post grad experience, preferably in the gulf but not required.

Ok thanks, I was just wondering my possibilities rather than going to Asia. If I wanted to get my MA down the road and work in the ME, I'd have some exp. and networking this way. How would one search out these facilities, are there any good job boards for the MErather than googling "international schools and language institutes in the ME" Smile...

Again, if you do a quick search you'll find answers. Top 4 employers in UAE are HCT, ZU, UAEU and AUS. Google them and look at their hiring criteria. In Qatar - the American University satellite campuses, QU (up and down in quality) and if you're Canadian CNA-Q. In Oman, Sultan Qaboos U. Can't comment on elsewhere - that's the extent of my current knowledge.
