What should an experienced TEFLer expect in China?

If you're an experienced FT with strong presentation skills and you know your way around a classroom (how to plan lessons, engage students, manage classes, etc.) you can generally earn between 100 to 200 rmb per class hour. I earn 120 rmb per 45-minute class at a polytechnic, and 200 rmb per 55-minute class at an international hotel. A lot of teachers make 250 or more. A lot depends on the kind of job that you get and the city where you live, but for jobs at middle or high schools and adult language mills the average salary is probably around 12,000 rmb per month without housing. Average salaries at colleges and universities probably around 8,000 rmb with housing. Just estimates though based on your qualifications.

My estimates are probably a bit optimistic, Cleric's more realistic.
