|
|
Hey all,
I work for a public school here in Seoul. Once returning to Korea, after a vacation in Canada over the summer months, all foreign teachers at the school had to stay away from the school for a total of five days.
We were then told that if we were to leave the country, either during Chusuk or over winter vacation, that we would have to either come back a week early or take five days sick leave or leave without pay. My question: is this true for all public schools in South Korea? Our administration told us that is was the Korean government that put this new policy in place. Is this true? Where do I find this information?
Now a lot of the foreign staff have since changed their flights or cancelled trips only to find out today that that government has dropped this policy. WTF is going on! I have looked at the immigration web site and have found nothing to this policy. Can someone please clarify this for me...please.
Cheers,
S |
