if the US goes bankrupt and the nation crashes into complete disaster, the end result wouldn't warrant good financial planning before it happens.

i'd rather be dead than live in a world run by the Chinese.

Thanks tracer. I've seen the gloom and doom gold and silver bugs before in the early 80's when I worked for Dean Witter, and did my fair share of trading foreign currency options in those days, I understand how the markets work.

Inflationary depression. Hmmmm. That's an oxymoron if I've ever heard one.

Scottie,

Didn't mean to overreach. I wasn't aware of your background. What do you see coming for the US?

Dynow,

Before you cash in your chips, you should consider making a donation to a charitable foundation with a 25 year track record of excellence. The Foundation for Helping Tracer (FHT) has been in the business of helping make the world a better place for over 25 years.

PM me if you're interested in this once in a lifetime opportunity. All donations are tax deductible and 100% of all proceeds go directly to Tracer.

Having worked in China I have to say the above idea appeals to me ... and I would take it tomorrow in preference to a world run by the USA. But thats me ... I guess I am kinda ... odd.

It's the living end. I hear only in France is it worse!

Just a hint though, you only really HAVE to pay the healthcare part, so you sign a contract with the NFZ then take it to ZUS and you pay around 300zl monthly (it varies each quarter). So it's a lot cheaper than the full ZUS of around 900zl p/m.

Australia has also now signed up an agreement (like the US one mentioned) with healthcare in PL... pity we don't just get reciprocal healthcare like we do in the bloody UK!

Are you sure that with a dzialnosc you only have to pay zdrowotne? When I started paying the full amount my accountant actually added the fundusz pracy payment. I figured it was some sort of punishment for trying to exist in a foreign country and make a decent living. I haven't questioned her about ZUS in a while but if what you say is true, I'd better get on that.

my accountant says the same. i've been trying to weasel myself out of paying ZUS, or at least the full amount, for a year now, no dice.

i simply can't IMAGINE what kind of paperwork it would entail to have my ZUS contributions transferred to America when I move.
