|
|
Hello everyone,
I would appreciate any advice you could provide about which country in the ME would work for me
Background:
I have a bachelors in Linguistics and a master's in TESL and two years experience abroad but not at the tertiary level (I know that's preferred by the best employers).
Looking for:
I am not particularly looking for the most exciting place (nightlife etc) but not a little town either. As far as pastimes, I would like a place where I could join a sports team as well as find people to play music with and a place with good food, museums, art etc. Not so interested in drinking, bars, clubs etc.
AS far as why the ME: I'm interested in professional development and good pay.
Any insight as to where I could go and how much I should expect to earn? Would it be worth it to stay here and get more experience before I apply?
Thanks-Appreciate all the advice! |

BTW... CERT is part of HCT (Higher Colleges of Technology) since that might be a bit cryptic if you are not familiar with UAE employers.
If I were you, I would just start applying to the various universities mentioned on the boards that require an MA. (most have website application processes) See what responses you get. The first job is always difficult, especially if you have been teaching just kids or just conversation classes.

I think that there's more than enough PD where I work. The problem is that people are not given the time to exploit what they've learned. I've always been a "learning through doing" kinda guy...not a "lookie here at all of the PD I did this year!"
