seasoned travellers know about gropping indian men on buses and in souqs but - being summoned to the cockpit for some molesting....maybe the pilot had watched 'airplane' one too many times |

Interestingly the only international groping I experienced was from Arab men (mostly boys actually). I didn't even have any problems in India... though I took care where I went and had learned diversionary tactics in Egypt.
But my favorite part of this tale was that for a time... everyone was out of the cockpit brawling... so no one was flying the plane. Thank goodness for autopilot...

Well, that explains why it's called a cockpit.

Groping is definitely an unpleasant reality for many in this part of the world.
A couple of years ago, I got groped by a guy (I'm one, too) while I was taking a picture (of those amazing mirror-tiled alcoves) outside the Mausoleum Shah-e Cheragh in Shiraz. As this is a major place of pilgrimage, there were loads of people around jostling one another anyway so he obviously took the chance when he saw it (a huge risk I'd say!?) and when I saw him, he took off. I was blown away. I couldn't believe it! |

Off topic I know, but I just realized that if I work in the UAE I could probably find some cheap flights to India because of all the laborers. Sweet, Goa here I come. |

In my experience most Indian expats complain about how the prices for India never seem to be cheap - the labourers are getting their flights paid for by their employers 99.9% of the time - so that has no effect on the pricing.
That said Air Arabia can have good deals but sometimes their dates/timings are strange and don't mesh well with weekends or holidays.
I believe there is another discount airline starting up soon? |
