If I stay in my current job for 2 years (which is probably unlikely as the location fairly well sucks) I can work on a MA ED online through a fairly well respected State University. Would this degree be useful really or no? It wouldn't cost me much if anything.

While the course is online, I will be working full time as a high school teacher and a lot of my classes will require on the job interaction/assignments so it won't be a pure "online" degree, as it has a practical work component.

Has anyone heard of this degree?

I really would prefer to work in an area with people (unlike where I am at...) but at the same time I can get a lot of free stuff working here. Some of it .... might be useful....

Thoughts? |

An MA is never wasted, and intercultural communications is a trendy (if nebulous) title.

It won't be an 'online' degree, but a 'research-based' one, I think. Meaning that the theory you study should be applied in your classrooms on a regular basis, and you are likely to study and report on the practical application of what you learn.

This is entirely respectable.

I'd say take advantage of the chance. |

Me, too, but my real-life creds aren't (yet) certified by any accredited outside organisation |
