Hi there

Our names have been issued on a 90 day block visa. It is supposed to be a government visa. Yeah!!!

The Canadian visa companies say we need a letter from the applicant or applicant firm. What did you guys do in this case? Write the letter or get your recruiter to write a letter? And did you mentuion you had a one year contract to teach at a govt university?

Also does anyone have contact details for a good visa company in Canada that can do a quick job!

Thanks to anyone that can help with info!

Saudi visas are only issued upon the formal request of your Saudi sponsor, who in turn has to have been given an authorisation number from the MFA in Riyadh. No number, no visa. Applicants cannot apply on their own behalf. Although you already seem to have been granted an authorisation code, you will have to wait for your employer to send you this number (the embassy should also have received it), alone with a letter of introduction and a copy of your contract.

We have got the number and names on the block visa. It is just the Canadian visa agents giving my husband a hard time I think.

I don't think so. As I say, the embassy cannot proceed with your application unless they receive a visa number from your employer, in addition to a letter of introduction, visa number and contract sent by you. The fact that the ministry in Riyadh has approved your visa is not enough for them to process your visa.

Niagara but he is heading to Toronto to sort the visa stuff out tomorrow. We are all sorted now I think.

This 90 day visa we are getting is not like the 30 day business visa.
In fact it is a government visa usually reserved for diplomats which explains why the visa agencies are not sure what is required. And we don't need all the docs that we would get if we were getting a business visa.

I think it should be ok! If you have a visa contact in Toronto let us know, we have been given numbers for one in Vancouver via e-mail.
