Hi there!
Ok, so I am completely new to the whole teaching English overseas thing. As of right now I have a possibility of going over to China in the Zhejiang Province to teach at a summer camp (not my first trip to China, but my first time doing something like this). The company that I have been working through is TOSIC (Teaching Or Studying In China) and I wanted to know if anyone has dealt with them before? Are they a good and safe group to work with? Should I worry about getting cheated?
I'm just trying to do my homework on them right now before I make any specific arrangements. Better to be safe than sorry right? So anything anyone can tell me about them, or even the province I'd be going to, would be great!
Also, is it legal for an American citizen to work in China for the summer without having a BA degree? I was under the impression that it wasn't but according to my contact through TOSIC it would be ok. (This is in regards to my friend who would be traveling with me, she is TEFL certified but does not yet have her college degree)
Thanks for your help! |

It looks like they need a teacher to help them edit the spelling mistakes on their website. I heard pretty horrific things about them about a year ago from a couple of teachers I met while traveling.
You can certainly do much better than to enroll with TOSIC. |

Thanks for letting me know! But now I have the problem of finding someone else to go through!
Do you have any suggestion who would be better for me to contact? I only want to go over for a summer stint, which has been my main problem up till now about finding work.
Any information helps! Thanks |
