Personally, I avoid anything with Soy. I've read way too much negative about it. (google)

Try these sites:
http://www.soyonlineservice.co.nz/
http://www.quantumbalancing.com/news/soy%20dangers.htm

Mind you, the first one does appear to be run by somebody who is a consultant to the New Zealand dairy industry, but I rather suspect a lot of the anti-milk sites have links to the vegetarian product multinationals.

Dear veiledsentiments,

"Personally, I avoid anything with Soy."

So, could it be said, then, that you are soy disant?

Regards,
John

With your new avatar, are you copying trap - or just mocking him?

dear johnslat,

definitely a couple of ways to view; unfortunately, neither is correct. wouldn't dream of mocking the trap. i think his avatar suits him perfectly. this headbanger status is temporary--hopefully! when i change to something bright and sunny, all will know that i received that coveted visa number! As far as soy is concerned, I do know that Oprah's doctor is a very intelligent heart surgeon and recommends soy.

The danger with it is that soybeans are highly contaminated with pesticides. Soy Protein Isolate should be avoided, as it is the worst culprit.

It is also good to look into the estrogen level effects of soy.

Whole organic soybeans are very good for you!

Dear saharastars,

"I thought camel milk was sold in Saudi Arabia?"

It is - tastes very rich (at least for someone more used to skim milk.)

John

Well, camel milk is not only sold in the Magic Kingdom, it is produced and exported to USA, Europe, and Japan.

Hot camel milk when mixed with Zangabeel and Sedr honey, will relieve you from occasional GMI, combat intrusive bad dreams and dissipates high anxiety during bedtime. Laughing

Gorkomi, I cannot take anyone serioulsy who uses Ophrah as a source of reference! (Jeering, on the other hand, is perfectly acceptable)

Do your own soybean research! It's a very contentious issue and the jury's still out.

You missed the word 'doctor' in gorkomi's post. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mehmet_Oz

You are correct about your second paragraph.

1) As are grains, fruits, and vegetables grown commercially. I am not aware that soybeans are any more contaminated than other agricultural produce. Any sources? Any way, people here are referring to any inherent benefit/harm, not due to external contaminants.

2) There are a few foods that the medical and scientific community is divided (albeit, not equally) upon. Some (I am talking about experts here, not people without relevant training) say they are beneficial, while others maintain they are more harmful than beneficial. Soy beans are one such food. Others are beef, butter, and coconut oil. Look up the research yourselves.

3) Soy beans do have high quantities of natural estrogens. And due to this, the can have a feminizing effect on men who consume soy products. However, if there is any threshold, no one knows it yet. At the same time, it must be said, that like most other natural foods, it is best to consume the food whole than processed products (unless made from the whole bean/grain/nut/fruit/etc), concentrates, and isolates made from it.

4) In light of 2), there is no point in arguing about whether soy is healthy or not. Pick your camp (after extensive research, of course!) and follow it!
