Does anyone have any experience or information about teaching in Tajikistan?

From this article, it sounds like the profession is in a bad state:

Having said that, perhaps then there is scope for an enthusiastic and resourceful teacher to really move things along there?

If you're prepared to pay to get a foot on the ladder there's always the Teach Abroad program, and perhaps they'd be willing to give you some info regardless of whether or not you want to go with them - worth a try.

Here is a Christian organisation that will pay a salary. Contact them via their website - the link is at the bottom of the page.

Good luck.

I would find it odd if anyone at all knew anything about this, and I would find it interesting if anyone could tell me anything about this too.

wow -

Interesting info/numbers/benefits @ the bottom of the first link. Considering the average' salaries, it sounds like a really, really interesting venture for someone with financial backup to give it a go as a working vacation.

The 'stans, the 'stans . . . one of the only regions I have 'missed' so far in travels. Le sigh! Big world, soooooo much to see & do. Maybe a couple of years down the line it would be a good 6 weeks of hols.
