Dear 007,

So, you want me to send my wife, two doggies, and cat outside?

Regards,
John

So, apart from getting joy out of gloating over someone's misfortune, I don't see the point of your comment? In most countries, public masturbation is illegal! So, I suggest you lock your door, switch off your computer and do it in private!

Polly1, this is uncalled for and offensive. Nothing that Cleo said could possibly have called for such a response as yours. Even if she had been gloating (and I do not think she was), you still could have found a more polite and less provocative way to express your displeasure.

I don't usually like to get involved in these little snit fits, but this one in particular just really offended me with its juvenile tone.

Not that it's any of your business, but I know some people who are actually working in KSA now and they're doing just fine.

Cleo herself is actually working in KSA and by all accounts she is doing just fine herself. So, what exactly is your point?

BTW, Joh, which is more correct?

1. Me and John worked in the Magic Kingdom.

2. John and I worked in the Magic Kingdom.

I'm not "Joh", but...

#1 is if yer speaking Arabic in English...

#2 is correct in speaking English...

Of recent months there has been a spate of posts from newcomers. Many have asked very basic questions that should have been answered by the employers. Indeed many of the questions can only be answered by the employers. This is probaly a reflection of the increase in dodgy deals from cowboy outfits and other contractors.

Some of the new posters seem to ignore the basic rules of courtesy that apply universally to human behaviour. If you want an answer to your questions - do not insult the oldtimers (including Cleopatra !)

Is being gratuitously offensive to strangers the way to get civil answers ?

Cleo, you seem to be offended that I haven't been turned into a whimpering mess by this setback! What would you like me to do, - lock myself in a room, watch ophrah and take up basket weaving?

Look, I don't know you, and to be perfectly frank, I couldn't care less what you do with your life.

I just know that had I recently been royally conned by one recruiter, I wouldn't be terribly eager to put my trust in another. But maybe I'm a cynical type. Anyway, best of luck. I was going to PM you in case you wanted some suggestions regarding employers who offer good packages, direct hire and a full working visa. As I've said before, these places do still exist - if you know where to look. Not that it's any of your business, but I know some people who are actually working in KSA now and they're doing just fine.

But I guess it's time for me to lock my door and switch off my computer...

Sound advice Cleo - not cynical at all. I got bitten on the a$$ by a recruiter and I wouldn't do it again.

Check this out... these guys are the "Real Mc Coy" when it comes down to plain cynical in doing business. I was (and still are) an architect for 30 years, and an ESL teacher for 20, this is a f...g nightmare I tell you!!...the likes of which I had not seen or dreamt since childhood...

Dear Candidates,

As you know we have been expecting to receive a batch of visas from EDEX. I have spoken to EDEX and they have advised me that this will now be ready tomorrow, unfortunately, they still have not confirmed which candidates will be getting visas tomorrow. I will send out another update to everyone tomorrow evening even if you dont receive your visa.

Best Regards,

Azim

This is a distress call to all of you old (but of course, wiser and better!) timers from LoboJack... I have had a deep face-to-image talk with lots of people who used to be here for me... my mother, Franz Kafka, Herman Hesse, Lobsang Rampa, Octavio Paz, mi general Augusto Csar Sandino, Janis J., and of course, Jimi the Loco. All of them, in my wide awake reflections turn to dreams, hinted that I should consult with the elders, the wise, los difanos, touched and yet unscathed by the scars time and experience bestow upon them.

Dear NCTBA,

"This is a distress call to all of you old (but of course, wiser and better!) timers from LoboJack . . ."

At last - you answered his call.

I have watched the 'old timers' on this forum constantly get stuck into newcomers and have a good laugh at their expense. It is the 'old timers' who lack common human courtesies. Cleo, not for once did I suspect that you give a damn what I do with my life - in which case keep your passive aggressive opinions to yourself. Just because you and your buddies (NCTBA, john slat and a few others) have clocked up few thousand posts doesn't make you experts or earn instant respect - because I-ve been on this forum on and off for over two years and most of the posts you guys put up are, at best, useless and your favourite past time is to pick on someone who dares criticise you.
I've gone over many of the threads lately and, you know what, most of the good and useful stuff has been put up by the newer posters. All you do is try to make people feel stupid for being mislead by, what usually are, very slick and experienced operators.
But you've appointed yourselves judge and jury on what is a 'valid' question for posters to ask and, if you deem the question stupid then, you and your buddies swoop on it and pick at the bones - just like you have now.
You behaved, along with other 'old timers', exactly in the manner I expected and you don't faze me. So, do go and turn off your computers and stop spreading your debris. Like all those who dish it out thick and fast, like you, it's clear you can't take it. There are worse things in this world than going to work in the KSA for $2000 - one of them is being on this forum for six years and clocking up thousands of posts. Get a life or get some manners!

Probably.

It's just that I can't think of them right now.

Shocked Sad Goodness, people in Saudi making salaries this low are unskilled and generally from impoverished countries. Qualified teachers should never have to take this low of a salary, especially in Saudi Arabia. I like Saudi, but it's a real tough place to work, believe me!
