Speaking for myself, this Canadian can't afford a junket to Buffalo, New York, let alone a house on Turks & Caicos. I don't even know where they are! But recently I saw a rather posh woman business journalist (demure, well-dressed, soft-spoken) interview the leader of T and C on television. He gave an eager pitch in support of the Canadian plan. It sounds as if the Brits are distracted. Maybe they let the colonial budget shrink or something. |

The idea was first floated about 20 years ago, but died a quiet death due to the fact that the T/C economy was not doing well at the time and it was thought it would be a financial drain on Canada. Now that T/C is doing swimmingly, it is being rethought.
My opinion? why not? |
