I'm not sure about this States located recruiter. Not much information in the contract, and if you fuss, they add things in. However, when you ask the recruiter to sign the contract you signed, no luck. Then you get contacted by someone from KSA who wants you to fly to the Houston Consultate to pick up a 5 year visa, nondescript, which turns out to be a 2 year business visa, if you ask and ask. When you point out that this doesn't allow you to work, etc, etc, etc., you get no reply. What's going on here, some kind of bait and switch? One contract here, then another after arrival in KSA. Advise, thanks. TIA |

I've never heard of either a five-year visa or a two-year business visa. |

No one can tell you that unless you tell them what institution you are being hired for. What are the other benefits?
Salary is not the ONLY factor in taking a job. Certainly not in a place like Saudi Arabia.

Maybe I'm just the suspicious sort, but this whole thing smells of scam. Check their website and email addresses carefully. Do not under any circumstances send them any money and if they ask, the scam has been confirmed.
Check out the scam sticky on the UAE board.

Based on the OP, I seriously doubt if it's a real offer. Red flags are all over the place with this one. |

They are communicating with me using the following [email protected]. Is there some guy named Haroon etc. involved, or some guy, allegedly at the Houston Consulate with special powers, NOT MY WORDS, at this email from an Alhaitam Co. MOD [email protected]? I smell something, could it be... |

I signed a contract to work in the English Dept. at King Saud University and then was told to get an employment visa through Global Visa (http://globalvisa-us.com) located in Houston TX supposedly across the street from the Saudi Consulate. Of course, I had to pay the fee to the Saudi Consulate in Houston $108, Global Visa's fee $60, and 4 US Postal Service Express mailings (because Global Visa could not tell me one time what they wanted me to send) totalling $80.
After I did all of this, I was notified that King Saud University did not want to hire me because I did not have English teaching credentials (my degree is in library science).
Question: Why am I applying and paying for an employment visa when I don't have a job?
Question: Why am I paying Global Visa to do anything when I don't have a job offer?
I mailed them my passport and I may never see it again.
These are all crooks of the first order and you should all stay away from them:

I expect those names and e-mail addresses will disappear shortly, after a "MOD edit."

What's wrong with naming the guilty???
Are you part of their criminal conspiracy???
The only thing that makes sense in this case is that Global Visa is offering fake employment contracts to generate work for its visa processing business in Houston.
