I am wondering which is better to get on the NET scheme. I am currently in college working on my teaching credential, which qualifies me to teach in the United States, but thinking about changing my studies to the MA since I don't care about teaching in the states. But if it will better my chances on getting into the NET Scheme then I will finish the credential. Which is the better option?

For getting a credential in California, I know you have to clear it in five years because you originally get a priliminary credential. I think it sort of expires in five years. Are there any issues with this in HK if I stay beyond five years?

Not sure, but probably not an issue. Besides, maintaining your teaching license just requires taking a certain number of hours of continuing professional education. On the other hand, since you won't be in California, that might be a problem since the state probably has a list of approved programs. Check with the state board of education.

You can probably take some classes online to maintain your teacher's license.
