Hansen, most things are done the same in western countries. We just

Well said.

Chinese judges often take orders from the Party and thus render politically-influenced verdicts. However bad this may look it isn't always bad.

In the West litigation can be a rich person's pastime as in the case of that U.S. woman who extorted a hefty compensation from McDonald's for burning her skin with coffee. What has that compensation got to do with "fairness"? It just demonstrated - to us from other countries, anyway - that devious individuals can turn the law against anyone and get paid for doing that. Our lawyers too are tools that offer themselves to the highest bidders; many in dire need of good representation in court cannot afford to hire a lawyer. Is that "fair"?

Noble sez: What has that compensation got to do with "fairness"?

CT88:Compensation has to do with punitive measures and many consider it "fair" to punish offenders.

Politics often diddle with trials in all countries and often are the results of political endeavors such as forfeiture rules and non association sentences which supposes the associate is guilty of a crime before conviction. .
