Hi I was wondering if anyone knew any websites, or newspapers where I could find different apartment listings. I've tried craigslist and just googling but I haven't really found anything great. Any help would be greatly appreciated Smile

I too am new in town and am here for the CELTA course at ILA. Anybody who has any leads for house share or accommodations for the next 6wks would be appreciated. Does anybody know what would be a fair price for a month's stay at one of the mini-hotels on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai St., Dist. 3 near the ILA building? Most of those places range from 20-25 a night for a single with some offering 10% discount for extended stays but if I wanted some thing in the $300-400 range a month would that entail living out of walking distance to ILA?

On that budget your best bet would be to get a guesthouse in Pham Ngu Lao for $10-15 a night and just get a xe om motorbike taxi to ILA (less than $1 and 5-10 minutes). You can get a place with a/c and maybe laundry service included in that price bracket, on any of the alleys running from the east end of the Pham to Bui Vien.

i'm already in a guesthouse but I prefer to have my own place that way I could have a kitchen I feel like I'm spending a lot going out to eat and buying water. I'm going to be working on Vo Thi sau and I wanted to either get a place in northern district 1 or district 7. Is the best bet to just walk around and try to find a place or is there a website or newspaper? Thanks for all the replies to my posts they've been very helpful

District 7 is a nice environment, if you are talking about Phu My Hung, but if you will be working on Vo Thi Sau that's the hell of a commute every shift. Districts 1/3/Phu Nhuan are more convenient.

You will have to buy water wherever you live. Between 7 and 9,000VND for a big water-cooler sized bottle. Eating out is, for many meals, cheaper than cooking for yourself, and one meal slaving over a cooker in this heat is enough to put all but the most dedicated chefs off the idea. Also, many kitchens don't have an oven, which is limiting.

My room in my apartment will be available on the 24th of November, or earlier if you want. It's in District 4, about a ten minute motorbike drive from Bui Vien.

24 hour parking and a nice location. 4 million dong (about US$220) per month.
