Wow, some people have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed. To the original poster, I haven't heard of any female only schools in sub-saharan Africa, but I have seen a few postings for women to teach females in the middle east on Dave's. I hear what the original poster is saying about different people being treated differently according to the situation. When I taught in Japan, as a non-Asian woman I avoided some of the expectations that Asian (and specifically Japanese) women would have likely faced. I know for a fact based on some of the males reactions that some Japanese men were outright afraid of me. In some cases generalities don't serve to put down people (ie men or Africans in general) but to paint an accurate picture of a situation. |

There are actually dozens and dozens in Sub-Sahara Africa although the majority of them tend to be for females of the Islamic faith.
You may wish to look at the TES website as two schools in Nigeria are currently recruiting for female only schools. |
