@MrMrLuckyKahn: thanks, I think you are right. I suppose the music COULD mean other avenues into teaching at a later date, should that be an option . . . Very Happy

@phis: I'll make sure I bring them with me when/if I leave sometime like when I was intending. Very Happy

I know you are asking about Medan, but with a major in music, you might want to check out a performing arts school in Saigon that my friend owns. Its a really nice school and the pay is well above the going rate for teaching English in Saigon. Here is the website if you are interested. When I was in Saigon she was definitely looking for music teachers, but things change all the time.

Thanks for this, this is worth taking serious consideration. Will peruse the website and see what comes of it. Where are you staying now?

Traveling around Indonesia, but will soon be leaving because I've already been here for almost 3 months straight, and I don't really have a reason to extend my visa again unless I find a job I can't refuse.

Hi there, well it seems that no one here has anything good to say about IEC, I have read a lot about them on other forums...any other recommendations for the city though itself. I have been teaching in Thailand ...Alana
