Does anyone know which agencies in the UK specialize in supply teachers and temporary contracts for ESOL/TEFL work? I only seem to be able to find general job agencies and the ones who specify education all seem to be for state education in schools for native English students. I'm only interested in teaching ESOL/EFL to adults (but I'm sure others would be interested in kids too so any answers appreciated.)

If you're a DOS, where do you go when you need supply teachers? (Or do you just get the other part-time temporary teachers to cover?! Oh - I think I've just found the answer to my own question!)

I know that Select Education and Capita supply people for FE colleges. Protocol National is also worth a look.

Cheers! From doing a quick search on these it doesn't look there's a huge requirement for ESOL/TEFL supply teachers. Even assuming I could take a job anywhere in the country, that brought up precisely 1 job from the 3 agencies! I think perhaps contacting local colleges/language schools and saying I'd be available to cover might be more lucrative. In fact, that's how I got my first job teaching in FE in the first place!

That's another good option.... It's worth registering with the agencies and letting them know that you'll be available - but once you've got someone who feels they can rely on you in a college, then you're more likely to get work.

After speaking to colleges, you may then find that they ask you to go back and register with an agency so that they can employ you....
