Does anyone have some good information on having my dependents live with me while I teach there? What I'm looking to find out is what we would have to do as far as visas are concerned, I know they could take trips out every so often but if its possiable to avoid it I would do whatever it takes. We have enough monthly income to live without my pay so its something we want to do. I plan on going first to start my job and looking for the right place but as theses things take along time sometimes, I want to get started ASAP. |

You will need to tell your employer that you want them on your visa. They should be able to do that for you but you will have to foot the bill. The visa bill for dependants (must be under 1 is between 2-5 million per person depending what city you are in and how much their agent charges. I know of a teacher who has a dependent and it wasn't that expensive. |

What must be under (10) that amount of depedents? Do I have to get them as I'm getting my visa or can it be done anytime during my contract? |

I have a child on a British Passport and I pay between 3 and 5 million for her paperwork - her first year was more expensive than her renewal. She follows my status, so while I am on a KITAS so is she, if I change so does she. I pay the agent on a separate bill.
You must notify your employer who will deal with at the same time they deal with yours but you will be responsible for the costs. This could incur an extra flight to Singapore for your child depending on the age, this I do not know as I have not had to take my child to Singapore.
Ask these questions before you come and make sure you have the support of your employers, life can be tricky here when trying to do paperwork yourself. |
