What are the job opportunities and conditions like for teaching in Luxembourg? How do the salaries compare with the average salaries there. Are there any big schools there? |

As far as I know, it's one big shopping mall of a country. I may be wrong, of course. Would be interested to read some feedback from those who were there. |

I taught there in 2001. There are a couple of big private language schools and few other opps. Wages are (were) pretty good relative to cost of living, though rents are high. Hours and working conditions are long, intense, and generally don't reflect the kind of teaching context I'd personally like to be involved with long-term. |

Luxembourg? Good salary, great students, expensive accommodation but there is always the possibility to get accommodation in France or Germany and "commute" to Luxembourg. |

Do the schools help you with accomodation or do you have to find it yourself? A bit like some schools that take freelance teachers. I take it no free accomodation then?

Hello,
Some of them used to offer financial assistance but that was a decade ago. You should contact the schools directly and ask them but I do not think they will provide you with free accommodation.
Hope this helps.

What is the legal status of someone who lives in France but works in Luxembourg? Presumably they pay income tax in Luxembourg but being resident in France they would also have some tax obligations, no? How does it work? |
