Now you're making sense!

. The Kingdom is 'Hashemite'..? Someone was saying some other name? Hejazi?

"Hashemite' is the family name of the ruling dynasty of Jordan. Until around 100 years ago, they were the rulers of the Hejaz, a region in what is now Saudi Arabia and which includes the cities of Jeddah and Makkah. When the region was claimed by the SAuds, the Hashemis were given the newly invented country of Jordan (then Transjordan) as a consolation prize.

I will complete the sentence above:

When the region was claimed by the SAuds, the Hashemis were given the newly invented country of Jordan (then Transjordan) as a consolation prize, by the Brits.

The Brits arbitrarily carving out countries (such as Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, etc) is what is causing a lot of the problems in the Middle East. Only if Arabs would rise together could they solve the problems plaguing their countries, as well as the Palestine-Israel issue.

One of the reasons the Hashemis, Sauds and Mubaraks are such valuable US clients is precisely because they work against the cause of Arab unity. Then again, what do 'the Arabs' really have in common except for a common language (and most of them don't even speak the 'common' version)? You have very conservative, wealthy Gulf sheikhdoms, and sprawling, poverty ridden countries like Sudan or Egypt.

Arab unity would be great, in theory, but realistically it's unlikely to happen.
