Hello,
I'm thinking of moving to The Kingdom in September 2010, I am a trained Kindergarten Teacher and I am qualified to teach up to 8 years of age. Is there anyone out there with experience or knowledge of Saudi Arabia, that wouldn't mind sharing with me? I have some questions!

1. Where is the best place and time to look for jobs in Saudi?
2. Which city would be the best for me? I have lived in Istanbul/Turkey for 3 years so I am relatively used to living amongst Muslims and Islam
3. How are the living compounds for foreigners?
4. Where are the good schools? Which cities? International schools?
5. How would I be expected to dress as a foreign woman? What can and can't I do?
6. How safe is it for women to live in Saudi?
7. working permts and residencies? easy to obtain?
8. general living info... Smile

I am a female from the UK and I have lived in Turkey for some time, I know that Turkey is very different to Saudi, I have come to a point in my career and life that I want to take that step further into the Arab/Muslim world.

Baby steps, sister, baby steps. Might I suggest an employment journey south through Syria, next...Jordan...then, possibly the kingdom of pain...

if you want to take that further step into the muslim world, i suggest you avoid saudi arabia. this country is everything that islam was evoked (and has so far failed) to eradicate fifteen centuries ago. some of the most disappointed and disillusioned people i met here were devoted muslims or people with an interest in islam who thought of saudi arabia as part (or the heart) of the 'muslim world'

Here is my two cents worth...........

We have a new American instructor who has just converted to Islam. He has just arrived and has made his enlightening decision. I hope for all those knockers of Islam that there will be more converts so that they can see the error of their ways. Stop kicking against the pricks.
