Thanks to everyone's posts and generaly good advice I have secured my 1st teaching job .....as this is my foot in the door I took one of the first of 2 offers.

The job is in Pamulang, does anyone have any info on the town?

Can't help you with Pamulang, sorry.
However, hope all goes well for you. Remember, the forum is always here to support you. Your school should also supply lots of support, via both management and your colleagues, but it's quite useful to know there are people on this forum who can answer your queries also.
Indonesia's a big, complex, confusing, but wonderful country, but you need to remember to pack a few things before you come: a sense of humour is a good start. Patience and a sense of discovery also help, as does an open mind. Don't pack your preconceived biases and notions of what the country will be like - best leave them at home with your snow skis and winter woolies.
