Hi,
I've read that some of you have said that it's important for teachers to "look like a teacher". What does that mean, in Vietnam? How do you usually dress to go teach? |

Smart trousers, pressed shirt, tie and nice shoes.
If you can not dress the part how can you play the part.
You can never go wrong with black trousers, white shirt, dress shoes and an ugly tie. |

"Look like a teacher" means what it says. What did your teachers wear in HS and uni?
Probably something like Andy describes above:

(Obviously this applies to male teachers. Also, don't forget socks! ...and a sharp-looking briefcase.)
Teaching is a job that involves audience perception and image, so the simple rule is to dress professionally. This usually means conservatively.
Of course, different schools have different dress codes and teaching small kids generally doesn't require dressing up. In that situation you can go casual, but you should still look neat. |
