So far I've read good things about EEP, TBI, and UPI. Do all of these schools have a regular need for new teachers? And what kind of benefits do they offer in the way of vacation and housing?

I only know about TBI: 22-24 teaching hours per week, 6 weeks holiday (2 weeks set and 4 weeks booked by the teacher in 1 week blocks agreed by management and teacher), pretty good insurance. Good resources and ongoing teacher development. Housing, you get your own but they help you out. The are three TBI's in Bandung so I'm sure they need new teachers fairly frequently but they do have a good teacher retention record. Hope this helps

did you work there? have any idea what their schedule is like (hours @ school versus teaching hours, morning versus afternoon classes, etc.)?

thanks for all the advice.

I don't work there now but have friends who do. for exact teaching times it depends on which branch you work at. TBI Jawa most of the classes are from 1:30pm until 7:00pm. My contract which was a standard contact stated that the teacher was not required to teach outside a 10 hours span meaning if you have a class at 9am your latest class has to end at 7pm, and that teachers were entitled 12 hours off between teaching days, meaning if on Monday your class ends at 9pm the next day the earliest you are allowed to start is at 10 am the next day. However be prepared to teach 5 hours straight with a couple of 15 min breaks in between for four days in a row.
