Many private and some public JHSs have entrance exams.

You may also be interested to know that some elementary schools do, too.

I am talking about a long-term increase as a result of the legislation. You seem to be talking about an increase only for the year 2011. So far, I don't really see much of an increase on the way. Anyone else?
I don't know how you got that idea. |
I have already explained that. What part didn't you understand?

If there is an increase in 2011, there will obviously be greater numbers thereafter as well |
Not if the government changes its mind about their need, much like it changed its mind about eliminating weekend school days just a few short years ago. Please realize just how insanely fickle the J government is, mostly as a result of its revolving door PMs.
Shiori,
re: entrance exams
This is a thorn in the side of many English teachers (and their students) from JHS all the way into university. Yup, it's a stupid practice that should stop, but people have been saying that for many years,

yet the J government refuses to listen to reality. |

While this is getting very old, no, you did not state which part of any of my posts made it sound like I thought the increase would only be in 2011, therefore you did not explain. You said what you thought I meant, but you didn't say how you had got that idea, at all.
Basically I am putting it down to your misinterpretation of what I wrote, which I can't really do anything about. I meant one thing, you took it to mean another, and you won't accept that I might have meant something different to what you understood. I give up.
As for whether the government might change its mind, yes, and they might not. It's all speculation. |

Yes, this is getting old. I quoted (in italics) what you wrote, and then I talked about what you had "just written", which meant the most immediate previous post.
Since we're clear now, let's not haggle over this anymore. |
