If you are in Xinjiang, then how are you able to access the internet. There is no internet access in Xinjiang and no international phone calls. When did they lift the ban on this, because my friends who are at Donghua Intl. School still dont have access.
I love Xinjiang to visit but no way I would live there. That goes for Urumqi too. (I've been several times)
Oh, and I have never had a flight to Xinjiang that was on time. Usually I arrive about 2am after a four to six hour delay which is apparently quite common. |
I wondered how long if at all someone would pick up on the no internet.
I am back home due to family reasons so I have the internet
but I am going back. Yes Xinjiang is not a easy place to live it is abit like stepping back 20 years in time. For me the pros out weigh the cons.
I don't want to live in Guangzhou and we have a apartment there. It is up for sale.
There was a time about a month ago when people from overseas could telephone Xinjiang but it is now real hit and miss more miss than hit. |

| Not to be rude, but is home a non-English speaking country? Just curious... |

I was wondering that too.
To me, being from the UK, most of Jiangsu is like stepping back in time more than 20 years, and that's supposed to be one of the most developed parts of China
Admittedly, that's part of the appeal because 30 years ago most of Britain didn't have teenage gangs carving each other up and getting as drunk as possible on every street
Xinjiang looks like it's 50 years behind most of the world from what I've seen. |

Ok Are you saying my English is not very good or are you saying that Xinjiang is really alot further behind the world/China than 20 years.
Yep Xinjiang is at least 20 years behind.Probably 20 years behind alot of China.
50 years behind the developed world is not beyond reason.

Nah, it was the 20 years comment, to me the developed parts of China (I am even including Shanghai, once you get away from Pudong/Puxi) seem many years behind the West, so my impression of Xinjiang seems much further (I had internet 15 years ago, how time flies...) |
